Bio-PSB (PSB)

What nutrients does it contain?

A biofertilizer which increases the phosphorous availability in the soil by converting different insoluble phosphates in the soil, such as calcium phosphate, rock phosphate, gypsum, and iron phosphate, to soluble form.

What is it & how does it help in crop nutrition?

  • The agricultural community has been introduced to PSB also known as Phosphorous Solubilizing Bacteria.
  • One of the most important macronutrients for plants, phosphate (P) is added to the soil as phosphate fertilisers. However, a significant amount of the soluble inorganic phosphate used as chemical fertiliser that is added to the soil quickly immobilises and is no longer available to plants.
  • By converting different insoluble phosphates in the soil, such as calcium phosphate, rock phosphate, gypsum, and iron phosphate, to soluble form, phosphate-solubilizing bacteria serve to increase the availability of phosphorus in the soil.
  • Bio-PSB usage enhances plants' uptake of P.
  • Simple Bio-PSB inoculation of seeds results in crop yield responses equivalent to 30 kg P2O5/ha or 50% less phosphaticfertiliser requirement.
  • Bio-PSB helps to increase crop yield significantly.
